I love my home.

Sure, it could be a bit larger. And even though our two cats rarely venture beyond the backyard, I’d still rather not be backed up to a busy street.

Still, I love my home.

One reason is that, like many other people, I lived for so long on someone else’s property...

Jim and I spent the first 12 years of our marriage renting apartments and someone else’s condos and homes. Regardless of how nice any of the rentals were, though, I always dreamed of owning my own home one day. In fact, it was the goal of home ownership that got me interested in becoming a REALTOR® in the first place. I figured I’d learn the ropes and purchase my first home as an agent.

Which is exactly what I did.

The excitement of owning my own place fueled my desire to help other people to enjoy the same experience. For a few years I worked as a new-home agent, and then I jumped into resale.

There’s a ton to learn in both new and resale homes–rules, regulations, contracts up to your ears. One of the first things you learn–besides the fact that real estate is very hard work!–is that good communication is the lifeblood of this business.

Back in the day all you needed was an office phone, answering machine, fax machine and FedEx. These days, thanks (or should I say No thanks?!) to cell phones, email, mobile web access, etc., communication can move virtually at the speed of thought. At that speed, the deal on your home can fly or die in less than 5 minutes.

That’s why I became a certified ePro REALTOR in 2006. As such, I’m "fluent" in all the current forms of electronic communication. So you and I and everyone else involved in your sale or purchase can do much more than just stay in touch...we can stay in front of the wave.

Over the last fifteen years I’ve helped hundreds of people to buy and sell homes. Each person and every family I’ve worked with is wonderfully unique. Connecting with them all and helping them to move on with their lives is where the real satisfaction lies for me.
